TerraPay partners with Sabre Direct Pay to expand instant cross-border payment solutions for travel suppliers
TerraPay, a global money movement company, and Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR), a global travel technology provider, have signed a multi-year strategic agreement to expand the reach of Sabre Direct Pay and enhance payment options for travel agencies and suppliers.
Under the agreement, Sabre Direct Pay will enable agencies, airlines and hotels to send instant bank transfers through TerraPay’s network, which covers 155+ receiving countries, more than 7.5 billion bank accounts, and 3.7 billion mobile wallets. As nearly 30% of travel payments occur off-card and are still routed through slower, traditional rails, the travel industry continues to face friction, delays, and higher operational burden. By combining Sabre Direct Pay’s global reach with TerraPay’s instant, secure cross-border infrastructure, this partnership empowers Sabre to offer the full spectrum of card and non-card payout options. The result is faster, more reliable settlements for suppliers and smoother experiences for travellers across international markets.
“Sabre Direct Pay continues to scale its global footprint and capabilities,” said Patricio Boccardo, Managing Director of Sabre Payments. “Adding TerraPay’s network means travel suppliers can access instant payments in over 155 countries, supporting faster settlements and improved cash flow. Our focus is on delivering practical solutions that address the complexity of cross-border payments in travel.”
Travel suppliers face ongoing challenges when managing international payments, including navigating diverse banking systems, regulatory requirements, and currency conversion processes. Integrating TerraPay’s infrastructure with Sabre Direct Pay provides suppliers with a single, streamlined solution for sending funds globally, reducing administrative overhead and supporting operational efficiency.
“Partnering with Sabre Direct Pay connects TerraPay to one of the most influential networks in global travel”, said Valli Ardalan, SVP and Head of Europe, TerraPay. “Our infrastructure is built to move money instantly and securely across borders, and together we’re removing long standing friction in how suppliers get paid and how travellers are served. This collaboration strengthens the financial backbone of the travel industry and enables faster, more dependable experiences for everyone across the journey”.
TerraPay operates one of the largest cross-border payments networks regulated in over 30 markets. The company enables instant, reliable, and compliant money movement for businesses worldwide.
