Swiss payments provider Payrexx has partnered with Newland Payment Technology (NPT), a global provider of payment terminals and technology solutions, to launch its own range of payment terminals for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Founded in Thun, Switzerland in 2015, Payrexx helps SMEs across the country to accept and manage payments through a single account – combining ecommerce, payment links, donation forms, QR payments, and in-store payment acceptance within one platform.

The partnership with Newland marks an important milestone for Payrexx, enabling the company to launch its first fully branded terminal proposition. While Payrexx has previously offered payment terminals through third-party providers, the new range enables it to deliver a more consistent merchant experience across hardware, software, onboarding and support, while giving it greater control over branding and customisation.

Payrexx selected Newland following an extensive review of terminal providers. Key factors included the breadth of Newland’s device portfolio, the flexibility to support Payrexx’s customisation requirements, its collaborative approach throughout development, and a competitive commercial offering.

A further differentiator was Newland’s Terminal Operations Management System (TOMS), which enables Payrexx to remotely manage and support its terminal estate. Through TOMS, terminals can be deployed with minimal configuration, diagnosed remotely and updated centrally, helping Payrexx deliver the fast, personalised merchant support that is central to its service proposition.

The rollout begins with Newland’s N910 Pro, a compact but powerful entry-level Android SmartPOS terminal. The portfolio will then expand to include additional customised devices, including the N950K and N950, giving Payrexx the flexibility to support different merchant requirements, sectors and price points.

The terminals support Visa, Mastercard and TWINT, one of Switzerland’s most widely used payment methods and a popular QR payment solution across the country. Designed with ease of use in mind, the terminals arrive pre-configured and ready to use, helping business owners get started with minimal setup.

The devices also include mobile connectivity SIM options, enabling businesses to take payments wherever mobile coverage is available. This supports a broad range of use cases, from independent retailers to restaurants, hotels, and tourism businesses operating in remote locations, including mountain regions across Switzerland.

Aimé Ndayisaba, Head of Growth & Strategic Projects at Payrexx, commented: “Our goal has always been to make payments as simple as possible for Swiss businesses. As our merchants grow, they need more than a payment terminal – they need a partner that can support online payments, in-store payments, TWINT and future growth through a single platform.

“Whether it’s a dentist, florist, hotel, restaurant or independent retailer, our customers want payment technology that works straight out of the box and allows them to focus on running their business rather than managing multiple providers and systems.

“Working with Newland has enabled us to launch a terminal portfolio that reflects the Payrexx brand and delivers the simple, ready-to-use experience our merchants expect. Just as importantly, the technology behind the solution enables us to provide the fast, responsive support that our customers rely on. From the beginning, the team stood out for their responsiveness, technical expertise and collaborative approach, making them an exceptional partner throughout the project.”

Alan Moss, General Manager, Europe at Newland, added: “Payrexx had a clear vision for how it wanted merchants to experience its brand, from the moment a terminal arrives through to daily payment acceptance. Our role has been to provide the technology, flexibility and support needed to bring that vision to life.

“Beyond supplying device technology, we help payment providers bring solutions to market faster, support them throughout the estate lifecycle and adapt as merchant requirements evolve. By combining our technology with Payrexx’s market expertise and merchant proposition, we’re helping them create a streamlined payment experience for their business customers with full flexibility to support their growth.”

The partnership positions Payrexx to support merchants at every stage, from sole traders and service businesses through to larger SMEs with more complex payment requirements.

For Newland, the partnership demonstrates its role as a long-term payments technology partner for payment providers looking to deliver differentiated merchant experiences. With more than 100 million devices deployed globally and a presence in over 120 countries and regions, Newland combines payment hardware, lifecycle support and operational expertise to help partners bring solutions to market faster and adapt as payment environments evolve.
