Mollie today announced a new venture model to build a dedicated intelligence platform and banking layer for AI agents. The platform will give customers the ability to run their own AI agents directly against Mollie’s payment and banking rails. Rather than staffing an internal product department, Mollie is actively recruiting a founding team, or considering early-stage startup acquihires, to build this platform from the ground up.

Mollie is committing an equity pool of up to €50 million in Mollie equity for the team. The equity is structured in tiers and is contingent on meeting predefined operational and commercial milestones.

The team will operate in a ring-fenced setup with full ownership over architecture, roadmap, and go-to-market. In addition to capital, the venture will leverage Mollie’s regulated banking rails, proprietary tech infrastructure, and distribution to over 350,000 businesses.

“As software shifts toward autonomous AI agents, dedicated financial infrastructure is required to support machine-driven transactions,” said Adriaan Mol founder Mollie. “Building this from zero requires high autonomy and the alignment of a founding team. This model bridges startup execution speed with the regulatory rails and scale Mollie has built over the past two decades.”

Team applications are open immediately through an accelerated diligence process.
