dLocal partners with DHL Express Brazil to automate Pix payments and accelerate parcel release
dLocal (NASDAQ: DLO), the leading cross-border payment platform connecting global merchants to emerging markets, has partnered with DHL Express Brazil, the leading international express shipping provider in the country, to power automated Pix payments for its local operations.
Across Latin America, alternative payment methods (APMs) are embedded in everyday payment flows, with Pix established as Brazil’s primary domestic rail and reaching over 166 million users. While real-time settlement has improved payment speed at the consumer level, many operational environments still rely on legacy verification and reconciliation processes, creating bottlenecks in time-sensitive industries.
In logistics, speed and visibility are critical. By partnering with dLocal, DHL Express Brazil embedded Pix into its checkout, removing manual payment confirmation steps such as bank reconciliation and payment receipt requests. Payments are automatically reconciled and confirmed directly within their CRM, allowing operations teams to release parcels within minutes instead of hours, reducing friction between finance and logistics teams and lowering the risk of returns caused by delayed confirmation.
For end customers, this translates into a smoother experience, with payments completed in seconds and shipments released almost immediately. Since the integration, DHL Express Brazil has increased its online payment rate by 31%, while Pix payment volume has grown by 400% as more customers choose a familiar way to pay. This joint project lays the groundwork for broader payment coverage, including Boleto, as the company continues to optimize its local online checkout experience.
“Speed is at the core of our value proposition, and payments need to move at the same pace as our logistics operations,” said Marco Vollmer, Chief Financial Officer at DHL Express Brazil. “Through this integration, we’ve eliminated manual payment checks, improved visibility for our teams, and delivered a faster, more intuitive payment experience for our customers.”
“Pix has become the default way Brazilians pay online, and real-time confirmation is essential for logistics companies,” said Luisa Ribeiro Nunes, Country Manager (Brazil) at dLocal. “By automating payment confirmation and embedding it directly into DHL Express Brazil’s operational flows, we’re helping align payments with the operational realities of express delivery.”
