dLocal (NASDAQ: DLO), the leading cross-border payment platform connecting global merchants to emerging markets, has partnered with HONOR, a global leading AI device ecosystem company, to power local payment acceptance for its inaugural website launch in Peru.

Peru’s eCommerce is on a strong upward path, now the fastest-growing in Latin America. Online sales are expected toreach US$ 59.5B by 2027, creating opportunities for international brands to expand, though not without some challenges. While online shopping continues to grow, only around 26% of eCommerce transactions use international credit cards. Instead, local cards and other alternative payment methods (APMs) have become the norm. This trend is led by Peru’s leading eWallet, Yape, which has more than 16.5M active users (nearly half the country’s population) and uses tokenization and encryption to keep payments secure and checkout simple, encouraging more Peruvians to shop online.

Through this partnership, dLocal enables HONOR to accept payments from Peruvian consumers via a broad range of local payment methods through a single API integration. HONOR customers can now pay using credit cards with installment options, a widely used feature in Peru, along with debit cards, bank transfers, eWallets such as the popular Yape. This localized strategy eliminates traditional international purchase friction, allowing them to deliver the experience Peruvian consumers expect from domestic retailers.

The collaboration draws on dLocal’s deep expertise in Latin American markets to accelerate HONOR’s regional expansion. By integrating local payment preferences and pricing in local currency, HONOR can reach more Peruvian consumers, build trust, and reduce cart abandonment, while staying focused on delivering cutting-edge AI technology.

“Launching the website in Peru represents a pivotal moment in HONOR’s Latin American expansion strategy and marks an important step in providing customers with a direct, local way to shop. Partnering with dLocal enables Peruvian customers to purchase devices using their preferred payment methods, creating a localized shopping experience that reflects HONOR’s commitment to empowering people with smarter technology.”

“HONOR’s products set a high bar for innovation, and their payment experience should reflect the same standard,”said Justin Goh, Head of China at dLocal. “By processing transactions through domestic rails and supporting key local methods like Yape and Pago Efectivo, we’re helping them connect directly with consumers and build a strong foundation for sustainable growth in Peru.”
