Fime, a global leader in consulting and testing for payments, digital identity, and smart mobility, today announced its new software security laboratory, specializing in PCI Mobile Payments on COTS (MPoC). The new lab in Melbourne, Australia, marks a significant step in Fime’s expansion into software security and strengthens its ability to support the SoftPOS ecosystem to test and certify their solutions.

Fime offers an end-to-end service, combining global consultancy alongside functional and security testing. It is therefore uniquely positioned to enable clients’ innovation by streamlining certification processes, reducing integration risks and accelerating time to market. The addition of the new lab enables the company to support customers across the PCI MPoC lifecycle, from pre-assessment and evaluations to deltas, annual checkpoints and revalidations.

“Opening our Melbourne software security lab is a major step in Fime’s evolution as a trusted testing partner,” said Noël Catherine, SVP Services at Fime. “By adding a highly experienced and reputable local team grounded in decades of evolved security testing, Fime enhances its established L2 and L3 functional testing capabilities, enabling customers to benefit from full lifecycle support in a single, streamlined, end-to-end process.”

Fime’s ability to deliver both functional and security testing, alongside specialized consulting, is designed to meet rising demand for secure, reliable digital solutions worldwide. SoftPOS, which allows NFC-enabled devices to securely accept payments without requiring additional hardware, is experiencing growing global demand. The market is expected to reach $540 billion in global transaction value by 2030, up from $23.9 billion in 2025, underscoring the need for trusted software security testing and consultancy.
