Pega Unveils Agentic Solution to Streamline Payment Exceptions

Pegasystems (NASDAQ: PEGA) has launched Pega Smart Investigate Agentic Automation, a new edition of its payment exceptions and investigations solution. The platform is the first to combine embedded agentic AI with native support for the latest SWIFT ISO 20022 standards, enabling banks to resolve cases more quickly while lowering operational costs.

The solution addresses rising volumes of payment exceptions, driven by sanctions, regulatory changes, and shifting global trade patterns. By automating manual processes and increasing straight-through processing, Pega aims to ease operational pressure on financial institutions while improving client service.

Key features include resolution guidance for SWIFT MX messages, advanced email request processing, support for new and emerging payment types, and interoperability with third-party AI agents. The system also leverages Pega’s rules-based workflows, giving banks flexibility to balance proven methods with generative AI capabilities.

Pega will present the solution at the Sibos 2025 conference in Frankfurt starting September 29.
