Dwolla Expands Integration with Plaid for Enterprise Customers
Dwolla, a US-based account-to-account payment solution, has expanded its integration with Plaid, enabling its clients to access Plaid’s instant account verification, real-time balance checks, and Pay by Bank payment options through a single API and vendor.
Originally announced in October 2024, the Dwolla-Plaid integration is now available to enterprise customers, making the unified API widely accessible.
“This marks a significant milestone in our journey toward a fully unified payments platform,” said Dave Glaser, CEO of Dwolla. “This integration simplifies our clients’ infrastructures, enabling faster innovation, and it is now fully available to them.”
The new solution, accessible via a single API, integrates Open Banking services with Pay by Bank payment methods, including ACH, FedNow, and RTP.
“Partnering with Dwolla underscores our commitment to simplifying bank-based payments within the financial services industry,” said Brian Dammeir, global head of payments and financial management at Plaid. “Our combined solution boosts security and efficiency, empowering businesses to integrate core banking functions with ease and confidence. We’re excited to offer this to enterprise customers.”
Branded Research, the first beta client of the integration, is already utilizing the solution to improve its survey payout process.
Dwolla plans to further enhance the solution by adding more Plaid features, such as identity data, expanded transaction insights, and ‘Plaid Signal’ for advanced ACH return risk scoring.
The companies also offer an Open Banking-enabled ‘Secure Exchange Solution,’ allowing clients to maintain separate contracts and API integrations with both Dwolla and Plaid.
Earlier this month, US-based credit, collections, and accounts receivable platform Bectran integrated with Plaid to speed up and secure bank verifications by eliminating “idle time” from credit application reviews.
