Nu users will be able to choose between four types of keys to receive and send instant and free payments among the entities that use the Redeban network

Nu Colombia announced its alliance with Redeban to use the keys to the platform so that its more than 2.5 million users can send and receive money instantly to and from any bank or digital wallet that is part of the entity’s network, including Bancolombia, Davivienda, Nequi and Daviplata.

For all financial users, the keys will be identification in the world of digital payments. People can use: an alphanumeric identifier such as La Llave Nu (“@” + Nu Placa), cell phone number, email or ID. Each key is unique and can only be connected to one account.

“Immediate transfers remove a barrier for customers and give them the freedom to move their money according to their needs. We are convinced that they represent the future of finance in Colombia and this alliance brings us closer to that goal that we will continue to build once Bre-B is operational,” said Santiago Matamoros, product director of Nu Colombia.

Customers of the world’s largest digital bank will see this option progressively throughout March. Week by week the functionality will reach Nu users. To register the key, the customer must enter the app and access the account, find the option “Your keys” choose which one to register, the process will be intuitive.

It should be noted that Bre-B, Banco de la República’s instant payment system, should come into force as of September 2025, and although banks such as Nu, Bancolombia and Davivienda have already gone ahead to launch alliances to facilitate payments between some entities, that will not replace the use of Bre-B, which in a few months will force all actors in the payment ecosystem to be interoperable.
