Revolut Teams Up with EPI to Roll Out Wero to Millions
EPI Company, the European entity committed to delivering a sovereign payment alternative for consumers across the region, has announced a new membership agreement with Revolut, the global fintech and licensed European bank. This partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing local, secure, and seamless payment solutions in Europe.
As part of this agreement, Revolut will integrate Wero—EPI’s mobile-first, instant account-to-account payment solution—into its app for customers in France, Belgium, and Germany. Users will benefit from instant, free person-to-person payments powered by Wero’s high-security, frictionless infrastructure.
Launched in Summer 2024, Wero has already attracted over 40 million registered users across Belgium, France, and Germany. Initially focused on peer-to-peer transactions, Wero plans to expand into e-commerce payments in late 2025, followed by in-store payments, subscription management, and loyalty features from 2026 onward.
“This partnership with EPI underscores our dedication to providing greater value for our European customers,” said David Tirado, VP of Global Business at Revolut. “Enabling Wero within the Revolut app means our users can make instant and secure payments, seamlessly and locally, wherever they are.”
Martina Weimert, CEO of EPI Company, added:
“We are delighted to welcome Revolut as an EPI member. Their innovative approach and strong European presence make them a key partner in delivering a secure, pan-European payment experience that expands sovereignty and freedom of choice for consumers.”
With this integration, Revolut strengthens its position as a trusted digital banking platform tailored to the evolving needs of Europe’s digital-first consumers—offering payments that are local, instant, and future-ready.
