TBC Bank Uzbekistan (TBC UZ), the country’s largest digital bank, has secured $12.5 million in funding from Dutch impact investor Triple Jump to further diversify its funding base and accelerate financial inclusion in Uzbekistan through the rollout of its new SME lending product.

The financing includes:

  • $5 million from the Global Gender-Smart Fund (GGSF), managed by Triple Jump, aimed at supporting women, women-owned, and women-led businesses;
  • $7.5 million from Triple Jump’s ASN Microkredietpool Fund, focused on expanding access to responsible financial services in emerging markets.

The funds will enable TBC UZ to scale its lending operations, particularly targeting historically underserved segments such as women entrepreneurs. This supports the bank’s mission to provide fair and inclusive access to digital financial services across Uzbekistan.

Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, commented:

“This agreement, which further extends our relationship with a valued partner in Triple Jump, comes as we continue to strategically diversify our funding base and expand the range of products we offer. It will help expand our reach in the SME lending segment—set to become a key part of our loan portfolio—and help achieve our shared vision of improving access to world-class financial services in developing markets like Uzbekistan.”

Jarri Jung, Director Financial Institutions at Triple Jump, added:

“We are pleased to further strengthen our relationship with TBC Bank Uzbekistan and support their efforts to make digital financial services accessible to all. TBC is already making meaningful progress, and we hope this investment will amplify their impact.”

This agreement brings Triple Jump’s total commitment to TBC UZ to $22.5 million, following an earlier $10 million debt financing agreement from the GGSF in November 2024. It also follows a $20 million debt agreement with Swiss impact investor Blue Orchard in April 2025, bringing total funding commitments to $45 million.

TBC UZ is part of TBC Uzbekistan, the leading digital financial ecosystem in Central Asia. The ecosystem also includes Payme, a digital payments app for individuals and SMEs, and Payme Nasiya, an instalment credit service. TBC Uzbekistan is a subsidiary of TBC Bank Group PLC, listed on the London Stock Exchange.
