Zopa Bank Secures €80 Million in equity funding led by A.P. Moller Holding

Zopa, the digital-first bank redefining personal finance in the UK, has raised over €80 million (GBP £68 million) in an equity funding round led by A.P. Moller Holding alongside existing investors. This milestone underscores the bank’s robust financial performance and positions it for further growth as it prepares to launch its flagship current account in 2025 and a groundbreaking GenAI-powered proposition to transform how customers manage their money.

Zopa’s Remarkable Growth in 2024

Serving over 1.3 million customers, Zopa has solidified its reputation for financial innovation. The bank offers solutions that improve financial health, provide competitive savings products, and simplify debt repayment through market-leading tools such as balance transfer cards. Recent partnerships with UK retail giants like John Lewis and Octopus Energy further demonstrate Zopa’s commitment to customer-centric solutions, including its regulated BNPL and retail finance products that support sustainable energy transitions.

Since its inception as a bank in 2020, Zopa has lent over £13 billion to UK consumers, secured more than £5 billion in deposits, and boasts £3 billion in loans on its balance sheet. Employing nearly 850 people, the bank enjoys one of the highest employee satisfaction scores in UK fintech.

Zopa’s full banking license ensures adherence to the highest regulatory standards, offering customers FSCS protection of up to £85,000 per account.
